Prescott Rodeo 2015

Happy 4th of July!  I went to Prescott for the World's Oldest Rodeo on Saturday and had a great time!

It was raining at the start of the Rodeo but it let up and ended up being perfect rodeo weather.  Here are some pics of the Grand Entry.

After the grand entry was the wild horse race.  It was fun to watch and filled with tons of great picture opportunities.  Most of the horses got loose and only one team actually ended up getting saddled and on their horse.

The two pickup men switch out every once in awhile but here are the pics of the first pair of pick up men.

The first event up was steer wrestling.  My camera had trouble getting good pics but here are the one that turned out ok.  The pics of the different royalty members are of them helping to herd the steer back into the pens after the cowboy's turn is over.

Next up was cowpunchers ranch bronc riding.

The flag signified the end of saddle bronc riding and the beginning on the next event, tie down roping.

Next up was the specialty act of Diamond Z English Shire Horses.

Then it was saddle bronc riding time.

The next event was team roping.

My favorite specialty act was the McMillan Family Trick Riders.

And of course my favorite event to watch was the barrel racing.

The last event of the day was bull riding.
